This resources discusses the idea of having students pick their own reading material. The idea is that students are more inclined to read when it is self-chosen. I like this idea and can see myself possibly assigning one text to use for group work and having each individual chose another book that they are interested in. This book can be read during "free-time" such as when they have finished their work.
